[Discounts](https://help.classmanager.com/discounts?hsLang=en) # Discounts Based on Invoice Class Quantity Explained ## Apply discounts based on the total number of classes across all students on an invoice This scheme allows you to apply discounts depending on the total number of classes across all students within a single invoice. Instead of applying discounts to individual students or classes, the discount is based on the overall class quantity on an invoice, regardless of how many students are enrolled. ### How to Set It Up 1. Click `<` to the right of `Billing`. 2. In the expanded menu click `Settings`. 3. Then select `Discounts`, and at the right side of the page, select `Discount Based on Classes Quantity`. 4. You will see the discount table for you to fill in. The discount will apply to each class separately across all students. 5. In the **Preferences** box, you can set rules for your discount table, such as: - Select whether the discount is a **Percentage (%)** or a **Fixed Amount (£)**. - Choose the **Discount Application Rule** to either give the smallest or largest discount possible. For example, if multiple classes have different prices, you can choose whether the system applies the discount to the highest or lowest class cost. - Set **Max Discounts** to cap the amount of discount per customer, invoice, or student. 6. Fill Out the Discount Table - The **X-axis** (horizontal) represents the number of classes each student is enrolled in. - The **Y-axis** (vertical) represents the number of students on an invoice. - Click `Edit` to make changes, and remember to click `Save` once the table is filled out. For instance, if the percentage discount is applied to the 3rd and 4th classes, it means that if there are 2 students each taking 2 classes, the discount will be deducted from the 3rd and 4th classes. **Example of Discounts Applied** Below is an example of how discounts would be applied based on the setup in the discount table: ![](https://help.classmanager.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-04-2024-06-18-51-1403-AM.png?width=1624&height=610&name=image-png-Oct-04-2024-06-18-51-1403-AM.png) If there are 2 students, and the first student has 3 classes then the second student has 2 classes, discounts will apply: - 1st class: 0 - 2nd class: 5% off - 3rd class: 10% off - 4th class: 15% off - 5th class: 20% off By applying discounts based on the total number of classes on an invoice, you can offer tailored reductions based on class volume.
