Cashless Membership - Introduction

Accept Terminal Card Payments (Chip & Pin + Contactless) directly in Class Manager app

Cashless Membership is a free subscription option available with Class Manager, enabling you to process face-to-face payments directly within the app. To get started, you’ll need an active online payment method (GoCardless or Stripe) and a card reader, which you can purchase through the following links:

With Cashless Membership, you must process at least 80% of your payments through Class Manager using Stripe, Stripe Link, or GoCardless. If this threshold is not met, your subscription will automatically revert to a basic plan, incurring monthly or annual fees along with transaction charges.

Transaction fees for Cashless Membership are 2.97% + Stripe/GoCardless fees. For instance, if a lesson costs £10, the customer pays £10 plus fees, and you receive £10.

Payments paid with a Stripe terminal have different transaction fees to payments paid online. You can check and change these transaction fees to whatever you want by following these steps:

  1. Click < to the right of Billing.
  2. In the expanded menu click Settings and select Payment Method.
  3. Click Edit for Debit/Credit card or GoCardless.

Important Points:

  • When changing the transaction fee percentages, if the total amount is more than the default then you will get paid the extra. If the total amount is less than the default then you will be charged the remainder.
  • If you have both GoCardless and Stripe activated then if you change the fee for one, the other will change to match as they have to be equal.
  • The customers can view the exact amount of fees from invoices in emails and when making a payment as the confirmation page shows this under 'Platform Fee'.
  • Transaction fees apply to all online payments, including Stripe Link. For payment plans, fees are applied to each instalment, not the total amount. Part payments will incur multiple transaction fees.


To switch to or from Cashless Membership, please contact our customer services. Note that Class Manager does not notify your customers of this change, so it's advisable to inform them before requesting the change from customer services. If you have an existing annual subscription, any remaining time will be refunded. 👍
