Difference Between Classic and New Class Manager

This article outlines the differences between Classic and New Class Manager, details payment and subscription changes, and highlights the latest updates to New Class Manager.

Classic vs New Class Manager

With the launch of New Class Manager on July 1, 2025, many existing customers have asked about the differences between the two systems and what it means for schools currently using Classic Class Manager.

This article explains:

  • Whether you need to move to New Class Manager

  • What support is available for schools using manual payments

  • Key differences and updates in New Class Manager

Classic Class Manager Will Continue to Be Supported

We’ve heard feedback from schools about migrating to the new platform and want to reassure customers that Class Manager Classic will remain available.

You can continue using Classic Class Manager for as long as it works for your studio, with no requirement or deadline to migrate.

While we’re continuing to develop New Class Manager, the decision to switch platforms is entirely up to you.

If you do decide to move, our team will help guide you through the process.

Moving to New Class Manager

If you'd like to move to New Class Manager to take advantage of new features, you can do so by:

  • Recreating your seasons in New Class Manager

  • Allowing our team to manually move families, students, and staff

At the moment, transaction history cannot be migrated.

We’re also developing a one-click migration tool that will allow schools to transfer data such as classes, customers, and transactions more easily in the future.

Subscription and Payment Options

New Class Manager uses a percentage-based fee per transaction, instead of the traditional monthly subscription model.

This means schools don’t pay subscription fees during off-seasons, and many will see lower overall costs.

Credit Card Processing Fees in New Class Manager (via Stripe)

Country % Fees (Incl. Stripe) Fixed Fee
Australia 2.9% 30c
Canada 4.1% 30c
Ireland 2.7% 25c
New Zealand 3.9% 30c
United Kingdom 2.7% 20p
United States 3.1% 30c
