Pay As You Go explained

Learn how to set up drop-in classes easily with Class Manager.

You can now allow people to join your classes on a pay-as-you-go basis. This means they do not have to be enrolled in a class and can simply drop into lessons. Pay As You Go opens up new possibilities for individuals to engage with your classes on a flexible basis, without the need for formal enrolment commitments. It enhances accessibility and participation by allowing participants to drop into lessons as they please.

How to enable Pay As You Go?

Firstly, you will need to turn on Pay As You Go in your account. You can do this by:

  1. Click < to the right of Classes.
  2. In the expanded menu click Pay As You Go.
  3. Head over to the Settings tab.
  4. Toggle the switch to Enable.

Once you have done this, you will see your Pay As You Go link appear, which you can put on your website or share with your customers.

How can I set the limit for PAYG bookings, and how does it link to class capacity?

Once you've enabled Pay As You Go (PAYG), you can set the maximum number of PAYG attendees per lesson and choose whether bookings should still be allowed when the class is full. Simply follow the steps above to get to the Pay As You Go settings to make these adjustments. Note that these settings apply to all PAYG classes.

PAYG bookings count toward the class capacity. For example, if the class capacity is set to 10 and the PAYG limit is 2, bookings will only be accepted if the total number of students remains below 10. If 9 students are already enrolled and the 'Allow booking when class is full' option is disabled, only one more booking will be allowed.

How can I select which classes are available as PAYG and set the price?

After you've enabled Pay As You Go, you can then select which classes you want to have this option.

  1. Click < to the right of Classes.
  2. In the expanded menu click View All.
  3. Select the season and locate the class (or use the global search feature).
  4. Go to the Pay As You Go tab.
  5. Here you can check the box Enabled Pay As You Go and enter the price.
  6. Click Save.

How can customers book?

After enabling Pay As You Go for the relevant classes, you can share the booking link with your customers so they can start reserving lessons. Alternatively, customers can access the list of available PAYG classes directly through their Parent Portal. Where can I see who booked and their selected classes?


You can always see the list of booked Pay As You Go lessons on by following the below steps:

  1. Click < to the right of Classes.
  2. In the expanded menu click Pay As You Go.

Here you will see the customer and student info, the class they booked, the lesson date, and when they booked.
