Removing / Detaching Students from Classes

When a Student Drops Out or Withdraws from a Class

If a student leaves your school or no longer wishes to continue a class, you can detach them from that class to keep your records accurate.

Option 1: Detach a student from the class:

  1. Click < to the right of Classes.
  2. In the expanded menu click View All.
  3. Select the season and click the class (or use our handy global search feature).
  4. Head over to the Student List tab.
  5. Click Attach/Detach.
  6. Toggle the attending button, this should automatically save their status in the class.

Option 2: Detach a student from their student profile

  1. Go to Students > View All

  2. Select the student

  3. Navigate to the Classes tab

  4. Click Attach / Detach button

  5. Toggle off the classes you want to remove the student from

  6. Changes save automatically


📝  Important notes:

  • Detaching a student does not automatically update existing invoices

  • If the class has already been invoiced:

    • Regenerate the invoice to ensure you’re only charging for attended classes

  • If the invoice has already been paid:

    • You can add a credit to be applied to the next invoice

    • For payments made via Stripe or GoCardless, refunds can be processed directly from those platforms

Keeping your student records accurate ensures smooth class and invoice management. After detaching a student, always double-check their invoices to reflect any necessary adjustments. If a refund or credit is needed, take the appropriate steps to update their account. This helps maintain transparency and ensures families are billed correctly.
