Tags Explained

Easily group your staff members, customers, and students to create custom recipient lists, tag by skill level, and more.

How to Create Tags

To create a new tag for organizing your customers, students, or staff, follow these steps:

  1. Click < to the right of Students, Customer, or Staff.
  2. In the expanded menu click Tags.
  3. Once on the Tags page, click the Create button to start a new tag group.
  4. Enter a name for your new custom group and hit Save.

Adding Tags to Staff, Customers, or Students

There are two ways to assign tags to individuals:

  1. Using the Tag Group
After creating a tag, click on it and navigate to the Customer/Student/Staff tab (depending on the tag type).

    • Click the Attach/Detach button on the right-hand side to bring up a list of customers, students, or staff.
    • Use the button next to their name to include or exclude them from the tag.
    • A purple button means they’re included, while a white button means they are not.
  2. From the Customer/Student/Staff List

If you want to add all or select individual to a tag:

    • Click < to the right of Students, Customer, or Staff.
    • In the expanded menu click View All.
    • Tick the boxes next to the name or select all.
    • Click Group Actions and select Add Tags.
    • Select an existing tag on the list and once you're happy, click Save.
  3. From the Individual's Profile
If you want to add just one individual to a tag:

    • Go to their profile under the Basic Information tab.
    • Under the Customer/Student/Staff Tags section, search for and attach the relevant tags.
    • Save changes by clicking Update Tags.

Visibility of Tags

Tags are only visible to admins, so your customers, students, or staff won’t be able to see their assigned tags.

Now that your groups are organized with tags, you can easily send communications to specific tag groups by entering the tag name in the Group Search when composing an email. 🏷️
