What is the waiting list and how it works
The waiting list feature in Class Manager offers a solution when a class reaches its maximum capacity but still has interested students. Effectively managing the waiting list feature can streamline class enrollment and ensure that interested students have a chance to join classes even when they reach full capacity. Here's an in-depth look at how the waiting list works and how you can make the most of this feature.
How the Waiting List Works:
- When a customer tries to enrol a student in a full class via the Parent Portal, the system automatically adds the student to the waiting list.
- Students cannot add themselves to a waiting if there are spaces available in the class.
- Admins can add students to the waiting list for a class, regardless of whether the class is full or not.
- Customers may receive an email confirmation if they are placed on a waiting list, but they are not auto-enrolled.
- Admins decide when and how to move students from the waiting list to the class.
- Students on the waiting list are not automatically enrolled when a space becomes available. Admins need to manually approve and add them to the class.
Access the Waiting List:
In the waiting list view, you'll see student names, desired classes, and the date they joined the list.

Class-Specific Waiting List:
You'll find the waiting list on the class page as well.
- Click

. - In the expanded menu click
View All
. - Select the relevant season and find the class and click it to open (or use our handy global search feature).
- Navigate to the
Waiting List
tab to see the list. - If you want to add students to the waiting list, navigate to the
Student List
tab and use theMove to Waiting List
button.
Waiting List Automation:
When a customer attempts to enrol a student into a full class through the portal, the student is automatically added to the waiting list.
Add students from the waiting list to the class:

. - In the expanded menu click
Waiting List
. - Select the student by checking the box next to their name.
- Click
Attach Selected
.
Modifying Class Capacity:

Invoice Generation:
Students on the waiting list won't have invoices generated until they are officially enrolled in the class.
