Registering for Trial Lessons - for Existing Customers

Explore how existing students can participate in trial lessons to discover new class offerings.

Trials aren't just for potential customers – existing students can also benefit from exploring your class offerings through trial lessons. 

Here's how the process works:

For admin (you create a trial as admin):

  1. Create a trial for existing students.
    1. Click < to the right of Classes.
    2. In the expanded menu click Trials and click Create button.
    3. On the next page, select the student you are creating the trial for. Then select the season, class, and lesson date and then click Create Lesson Trials.
    4. If it's a paid trial, you can tick Mark as Paid (if already paid). Otherwise, it will send an automatic email about the trial lesson with a list of your available payment methods.
  2. If it's a paid trial and isn't paid yet, their trial will appear as inactive. Once they've paid online, this will automatically update to paid. If they paid some other way, e.g. bank transfer, you can mark it as paid.
    1. Click < to the right of Classes.
    2. In the expanded menu click Trials.
    3. Toggle to Inactive status.
    4. Check the box next to the student's name and you'll see an option to Mark as Paid.
  3. If they decide to join the class permanently, you can approve their profile, and they will be added to your list of regular customers or students.
    1. Click < to the right of Students.
    2. In the expanded menu click Trial Registrations. Here you'll find a list of students trialling your classes.
    3. From the Trial Registrations list, check the box next to the student's name who wishes to continue taking your classes regularly.
    4. Click on Approve Selected and confirm the approval to transition them from trial status to active participants. Or click on the Approve and enrol button to attach them to the class.
  4. Once approved, these students will be listed among your regular students, and depending on your settings, they will also receive a welcome email with the invitation to log in to the portal for seamless class management.

For existing customers (they book via the Parent Portal):

  1. Log in to the portal and click Classes from the top menu.
  2. Click Lesson Trials. Any upcoming trials will be listed here. 
  3. Click Apply to new lesson trials.
  4. Browse through the list of available classes and select the one you are interested in. You can use filters such as student age, venue, or season to refine your search. Alternatively, utilize the search bar for quicker navigation.
  5. Upon clicking on a specific class, you'll see detailed information and the option to choose which student you want to add a trial for from the dropdown.
  6. Choose your preferred day and time for the trial lesson.
  7. On the next page, just fill in the mandatory fields. The customer and student details will auto-populate. And then click the Register button.
  8. If it's a paid trial, you will be redirected to the payment page to complete the transaction. For free trials, this step can be skipped.
  9. Upon successful payment (if applicable), you'll receive a confirmation email confirming your registration for the trial.
  10. The day before the trial, you may receive an automated email reminder about your upcoming trial lesson (depending on the school's settings).
  11. And lastly, attend the trial lesson and have fun! 

By following these steps, existing customers can easily participate in trial lessons, providing them with an opportunity to explore new classes and offerings within your school. ⭐
